AAPI Heritage Month Cinema Series IconJoin us for the Hemphill Branch's AAPI Heritage Month Cinema Series, a month long showcase of classic and contemporary films created by Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander actors, writers, directors, and filmmakers. From the hard-hitting social commentary of Parasite to the magical musical adventure of Moana, each film explores a different aspect of the Asian/AAPI story across theme and genre.

On Saturday, May 16 at 3:00 pm, we are screening Disney's Moana, the 2016 animated adventure starring Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Here is a description of the film: "In ancient Polynesia, when a terrible curse incurred by the demigod Maui reaches Moana's island, she answers the Ocean's call to seek out Maui to set things right."

The film is rated PG and will be accompanied by a floating pool noodle craft. Build your own miniature raft, just like Moana's!
