DESCRIPTION:<p></p><p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-align: left;"></span><span style="text-align: left;">Join us for the Hemphill Branch's AAPI Heritage Month Cinema Series, a month long showcase of classic and contemporary films created by Asian, Asian American, and Pacific Islander actors, writers, directors, and filmmakers. From the hard-hitting social commentary of <em>Parasite </em>to the magical musical adventure of <em>Moana</em>, each film explores a different aspect of the Asian/AAPI story across theme and genre.</span></p><p>On Saturday, May 16 at 3:00 pm, we are screening Disney's&nbsp;<em>Moana</em>, the 2016 animated adventure starring Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.</p><p>Here is a description of the film: "In ancient Polynesia, when a terrible curse incurred by the demigod Maui reaches Moana's island, she answers the Ocean's call to seek out Maui to set things right."</p><div><p>The film is rated PG and will be accompanied by a floating pool noodle craft.
