In 1996, author Pat Mora had the idea of celebrating Día del Niño in the U.S. as a day to honor children and celebrate bilingual literacy--not just for children of Latino heritage, but for all children to celebrate and learn about their personal heritage. Join us as we share stories, rhymes, and songs in celebration of Children's Day/Book Day. We will look at other parts of the world which encourage literacy, and sharing family stories and culture.
