The Strange Fruit Foundation proudly announces the 5th Annual Strange Fruit Black Cultural Music Festival. This milestone year marks five years of celebrating Black cultural music, artistry, and community with an expanded lineup, paid headlining performances, and the debut of a new experience: the SOUL STROLL.
The three-day festival will feature live performances across multiple downtown venues, highlighting local, regional, and nationally recognized Black artists. Many performances will be free and open to the public, with select ticketed shows throughout the weekend.
The centerpiece event, the beloved “Day in the Park,” returns to LeBauer Park on Saturday, April 18, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This family-friendly celebration will include live music, craft vendors, food trucks, and a special Nina Simone Tribute honoring the legendary North Carolina icon.
